Juvéderm® fillers are temporary hyaluronic acid facial fillers, which are smooth and long lasting. Young skin is constantly moisturised from within by Hyaluronic Acid, a protein found between the cells of all living organisms and is a component of Collagen. Hyaluronic acid absorbs moisture and keeps your skin well hydrated for a youthful look.

Hyaluronic Acid levels naturally decrease as we age resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some lines become wrinkles due to outside factors like sun exposure, diet and years of facial muscle movement. Fat loss can create sagging and turn lines into facial folds, too. Fillers can be used to fill out facial lines, wrinkles and creases as well as increase volume and definition of the lips.

How does it work?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance within the body, which is found in the dermis (lower skin levels), it helps to keep skin
smooth and hydrated. Hyaluronic Acid levels naturally decrease as we age, resulting in visible signs of ageing (sunken cheeks, lines,
wrinkles, lips lose fullness).
Many moisturisers contain hyaluronic acid, but facial fillers containing hyaluronic acid, like Juvéderm®, are the only way to replenish the hyaluronic acid deep within skin. Juvéderm® fillers mimics the body’s natural depleted hyaluronic acid. Once injected the fillers provide support and structure to the skin, giving a plumped and more youthful appearance.

What can I expect in treatment?
​
The smooth consistency of the products in the Juvéderm® range allows your practitioner to administer them easily and smoothly. They also contain 0.3% lidocaine to reduce injection pain, for a more comfortable treatment experience. The filler gel is injected under the skin in the target area using a fine needle. The gel will then fill facial lines and wrinkles or adds subtle
volume.

Are there any side effects?
​
As a non-invasive solution to ageing skin there is no downtime associated with this treatment. Immediately after treatment you may see some redness and swelling at the injection site and it may feel tender to touch. These side effects typically disappear within 24 hours. Some clients experience temporary bruising in the week following.

How many treatments would I need?
​
In your initial consultation your practitioner will determine how much filler (mls) and which filler product will be needed to achieve
your desired results. Once this has been established you should be able to have procedure in a single treatment. Further treatments will be required to maintain results every 9-12 months as the filler product breaks down.
What results can I expect to see?
​
Juvéderm® fillers mimic the lifting effect of your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid to keep the skin hydrated and elastic. The effects of
the filler treatment can last between 6 months and 12 months depending on the type of product we use.
