TATTOO REMOVAL

At MS Beauty we use the best tattoo laser, which is Q-Switched Nd: YAG - for

fast removal of multi-coloured body art.

Laser tattoo removal is the only clinically proven method of removing a tattoo without causing scarring.

During a tattoo removal procedure, laser light is applied to the tattooed area of the skin.

The light is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, Leaving the surrounding skin tissue and chromospheres unharmed. The tattoo ink particles absorb the laser energy, heat up, and shatter into smaller ink particles.

In the days and weeks following a laser treatment, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade. Over a series of treatments, more and more of the ink shatters, leaving the skin free of ink.

Q-switched lasers are able to produce sufficient energy and power to remove dark

and bright tattoos without unattractive side effects like scarring. Q-switched laser pulses last mere nanoseconds, providing high levels of fluence for quality ink shattering.

These lasers are unique because they use an intense pulse of light energy that is very powerful and very brief. Because the energy is in the skin for such a brief period of time, the skin isn’t heated long enough to experience tissue damage. Yet, because the pulse of energy is so intense, the tattoo ink instantly fragments into smaller pieces as it absorbs the light.

After the treatment, the tattoo ink that is shattered will be eliminated by the body’s natural immune processes. Each laser treatment breaks down progressively more ink until the tattoo has been visibly erased.

It usually takes several treatment sessions to ensure success, with minimum 4 weeks intervals between sessions.

The colours used in the tattoo, as well as its size and density, can all affect the suitability of a laser removal treatment, how long it will take, which laser to use, and how effective it will be.

It might be that you’re only looking to fade your tattoo so you can have a different design?

It is essential to discuss these elements with a trained professional, who can ensure your tattoo is removed in the safest and most effective way for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How will I feel during tattoo removal and immediately after?

Laser tattoo removal can cause a stinging sensation but most people do not experience high level of discomfort during the treatment. Redness in the area is common after the procedure, but subsides quickly. The skin will be sensitive after your treatment so we recommend SPF.

Is tattoo removal pain free?

Unfortunately, no method of tattoo removal is completely pain free. Laser tattoo removal has been likened by some of our clients to the feeling of having a rubber band snapped against the skin. Others describe it as a rapid succession of sharp pinpricks, or a warm, prickly sensation.

I want to fade my tattoo, so I can have a new design. How

many treatments will I need?

A course of 6 - 10 treatments is often enough to remove the tattoo depending on the colours and depth of the tattoo ink.

How often will I need treatment?

To allow the skin to recover between laser tattoo removal sessions, you can only have treatment every 4 - 6 weeks.
